The Ithaca Waldorf School ( is seeking an enthusiastic, organized and motivated teacher as a Grades After-School teacher five days/week from 2:15-5:45 pm.  Ideal candidates are friendly, open, well-spoken, warm, and interested in eventually completing full certification as Waldorf Early Childhood teachers. In the Fall of 2019, the Ithaca Waldorf school will extend from Grade One through Eight, in addition to providing full day programs in three Early Childhood classrooms, which are fully accredited by the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (

All candidates should be able to provide a safe, nurturing and orderly environment which meets the needs of the children in her/his care. Outdoor play and visits to the neighboring organic farm are part of the daily After-school program for children of all ages. Successful applicants are encouraged to bring age-appropriate games and hand-craft activities to the children for the After-School program. Guidance will be provided by the Faculty mentors. It is expected that the teacher will leave a clean and orderly classroom at the end of each day.

The independent, not-for-profit Ithaca Waldorf School is authorized by the New York State Department of Education to provide instruction through eighth grade. IWS is currently an Associate Member School of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America ( .   • BA or BS required

  • After-School program teaching experience preferred

  • Waldorf teaching experience preferred
