Early Bird Enrollment Deadline (it’s closer than you think)

This is your weekly nudge to go online here: [link] and complete your child(ren)’s enrollment forms. The incentives, of course, are two-fold: check a task off your To Do list and receive the $150 Early Bird Discount by February 16th. But wait, you’re not done! Don’t forget to visit the office to sign your completed contract and make your deposit ($600 for Early Birds; $750 after February 16th).

Applying for Tuition Assistance? We are ready to help. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions, either in the office or by contacting our TA Committee: Bradford Smith and MaryAnn Albonesi

Waldorf 100 – Get Involved!

On September 19, 2019 Waldorf education will be celebrating its centenary around the world. From the Waldorf 100 website:

The global postcard exchange is already in full swing. I'm sure you've already received a lot of colorful postcards from different countries, right? Have you found a way to make all these small works of art apparent to everyone? We are looking forward to receiving photos of them! We would also like to ask you to send the postcards now, if you haven't already done so, to make the "Global Art Exchange" become really visible to all.

You will often see these postcards – those we have received, and those we are preparing to send – in our foyer. We encourage all students to participate in this small contribution to the celebration, and we could also use a representative from our community to act as liaison to this organization on our behalf. Please connect with us in the office if you are interested in acting in this capacity.

Winter Vacation Camp

IWS is offering a vacation camp for Early Childhood students Monday February 19th – Friday February 23rd from 8:30 until 3 every day. The cost is $60 per day, or $250 for the week. Miss Jessie and Miss Jamie will offer activities for children ages 3 – 7 in the EC classrooms and the outdoor playground. Ask for registration details in the office.

IWS Seeks First Grade Teacher

Community News

During the holiday recess in December, 2017, Tao Teramura in Cherry Blossom Room experienced a traditional Shintoism ritual called "Shichi Go San" in Japan. This ritual is for three year old females, five year old males, and seven year old females, typically taking place in the month of November. Families pay visit at the local Shinto shrines to report children's good health to Shinto gods and to ask for their further protection and spiritual guidance, while children are blessed by the ShinOto priests.
