School Lunch Cook

Hourly Wage: $19–$21/hour, based on experience
50% part-time position

The Ithaca Waldorf School is seeking a reliable and motivated School Lunch Cook to prepare and serve delicious, wholesome meals for our students and staff. This position begins August 25, 2025 and runs through June 20, 2026.

Our school lunch program emphasizes fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. With many ingredients harvested from our on-campus educational farm or sourced from local farms, we aim to connect children with the food they eat and foster lifelong healthy habits. The cook will be responsible for preparing and serving 30–60 meals per day, typically working Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, including prep, cooking, serving, and cleanup.

Ideal candidates

  • Have experience cooking for groups, ideally in a school or community setting

  • Are passionate about healthy food and enjoy feeding children

  • Can follow safety and cleanliness standards in a kitchen

  • Work well independently, while being part of a larger school team

  • Bring warmth, positivity, and flexibility to their work
