Thank you for your interest in our school! The admissions process is designed to support families through their transition into our school, our community and perhaps our local area.

With a series of simple steps, our thorough process is designed to ensure the right fit for the child, the parents and each class community. Each step must be completed before a student may be accepted into any class. We do offer rolling admissions throughout the school year!

Our Admissions Process

  1. Inquiry & Tour - Schedule a parent tour with the button above. Tours are designed for adults, and generally run 45-60min.

  2. Apply - Submit an online application on TADS. Note: As a Waldorf school, children must turn six years old by June 1st to be eligible for our first grade. A non-refundable $100 application fee is to be submitted along with your online application.

  3. References/School Records - If applying for the Early Childhood (EC) program you will need to ask a current or past teacher (if applicable) to fill out an EC Teacher Evaluation form. For children in grade 1-8 your child will need a Grades Teacher Reference and Request for School Records form. 1st Grade applicants will need a 1st Grade Readiness form.

  4. Classroom Visit - Prospective students to grades 1-8 will be invited for a 2-day classroom visit to experience being a Waldorf student. EC applicants will visit our program with their Parent/Caregiver for one hour.

  5. Parent/Guardian Interview - The Classroom Teacher will be in touch to set up a time for a Parent/Guardian Interview.

  6. Admissions Decision - We aim to convey admissions decisions in a timely manner upon completion of the full admissions application process.

  7. Enrollment - Upon acceptance, families receive access to online enrollment forms.

  8. Financial Assistance - Families may submit a Financial Assistance application at any time—we can only process FA applications once a student is enrolled.

  9. Tuition Agreement/Deposits - Tuition deposits and Supply Fees must be paid, a Tuition Agreement signed, and billing account in good standing before the student arrives at school.

  10. Submit Medical & Vaccination Records/Exemption - All records are to be submitted to the School Nurse at nurse@ithacawaldorf.org. Click here for the Health History Form.
