Early Childhood Lead Teacher

The Ithaca Waldorf School is excited to announce the expansion of our Early Childhood program with the opening of a third classroom for the 2025–2026 school year. We are seeking a warm, dedicated, and experienced Lead Early Childhood Teacher to join our nurturing and collaborative faculty.

This is a unique opportunity to guide young children through the foundational years of life in a setting that honors rhythm, imagination, nature, and deep connection. We welcome applications from educators who are inspired by Waldorf pedagogy and who bring presence, joy, and intention to their teaching.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS preferred; or equivalent professional experience

  • Classroom teaching experience with children ages 3–7

  • Waldorf Teaching Training of experience (preferred but not required)

  • A commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and teamwork

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading our third Early Childhood classes, which will open this summer.

  • Regular written and verbal communication with parents

  • Facilitating at least three parent evenings per academic year

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with colleagues

  • Regular attendance at the monthly EC and Full Faculty meetings

Starting Salary: $41,200 - commensurate with experience
