The Ithaca Waldorf School is seeking an enthusiastic, warm, and creative Co-Teacher for our rising first graders who will be combined with the second grade for most of the day. The Co-Teacher will bring the first grade ELA and math curriculum to the small group of first graders during main lesson (8:30 - 10:30 am) and work collaboratively with the second grade teacher on designing holistic, well-prepared main lessons.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher, and have completed multiple years of successful grades teaching experience, preferably in a Waldorf School. Ideal candidates possess a Waldorf teaching certificate, or are willing to obtain one.
Qualifications:
BA or BS required
Waldorf Teaching Certificate preferred
Waldorf teaching experience preferred
Experience teaching grade school-age students
Teaching, interpersonal, and class management skills
Strong communication and organizational skills

Currently, the Ithaca Waldorf school offers a growing Grade One through Eight program, in addition to providing full day programs in currently two Early Childhood classrooms, which are fully accredited by the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (www.waldorfearlychildhood.org).
The independent, not-for-profit Ithaca Waldorf School is authorized by the New York State Department of Education to provide instruction through eighth grade. IWS is currently an Associate Member School of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (www.waldorfeducation.org .
