Morning Care Program
We are piloting our new Morning Care program!
for currently-enrolled IWS students
Families have asked for this option on and off for years, and this year we anticipate additional need due to our change to a later school day start time (9am for Grades 1-8, to better fit the school bus schedule).
Miss Aileen will welcome and supervise your preregistered child(ren) for the time between early arrival (as early as 7:30am) and general arrival (8:30am for EC, 8:45am for Grades). Children arriving before 8am will receive a light breakfast snack, like overnight oats, fruit, chia pudding, toast with toppings, etc.
Preregistered Morning Care students will enter the building at their preregistered time (see schedule chart below), and gather each morning in the Great Room where quiet activities and other games will be set up for the students. We hope to create a calm environment for the students to gently enter their day before heading to class. We welcome students to bring a book, handwork project, or gentle activity.
***For this year’s pilot program, we will NOT offer a drop-in option: Miss Aileen needs to know ahead of time which children she is supervising, and for how many she should prepare a snack.
Morning Care Fees for 2026-27
Families will be charged via TADS, with the same policies as our After School Program.
Students arriving by bus are exempt from Morning Care fees if their bus arrives before their classroom’s general arrival time. They will join our Morning Care program upon arrival.
The only Morning Care fees for the 2026-2027 school year will be for periods even earlier than our 25/26 school day schedule. Care will be free of charge for Grades 1-8 students who arrive between 8:10am and 8:45 am this year, as families have already committed to tuition that included supervision for that period.
How to Register for Morning Care
Preregistration is required for our Morning Care Program, so that we can plan for accurate supervision, staffing, materials, and fees.
Families can register for Morning Care month to month, or for the entire year.
Year-long registration was due by 8/31/26—if you’re still interested in setting up a year-long Morning Care schedule, please contact the office.
Monthly Morning Care registration will be submitted by Google Form, on the same schedule as our monthly Lunch sign-up Google Form. Same roll-out, same deadline: a button will be published in the Friday Flyer about a week or two before the coming month.
The Monthly Morning Care registration button, like the Lunch button, will also be available on our Parent Portal webpage.
